Among the several yearly events Miami Beach is well known for, the South Beach Food & Wine Festival is arguably right up there with Art Basel in popularity. A longtime favorite among residents of the Apogee condo, this year the event celebrated its tenth anniversary and managed to do much more than simply function as a place to pick the brains of famous names like chefs Rachael Ray and Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse.
This year, the South Beach Food & Wine Festival saw considerable success with nearly 60,000 attendees, including people from Apogee South Beach. Sponsored by Wine Spectator, the event also raised over $2 million for the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management’s Teaching Restaurant and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center, both of which belong to Florida International University (FIU). Speaking of which, the event also serves as valuable work experience for FIU students who are pursuing careers in the hospitality industry.
While Apogee Miami Beach wasn't the host of the South Beach Food & Wine Festival, its sibling the Fontainebleau condo did the hold the honor this time around. If you've never been to one of the events, it's definitely worth a visit if only to taste some of the finest wines and delectable bites.
